About Us
This asssociation begun in September of 2000, and oficialy reconized in december of 2001, in Chimoio city, Mozambique. This association was officially published in Mozambique Republic bulletin. The portuguese couple, Rosaria and Samuel Garcia, was the founders, and others couples joined. So they began to make promote professional formation in one prison, where they teach carpentry to teen prisoners. Also made the reconstruction of the scholar building with four classes in Chimoio Prison, and the construction of the new prison in Gondola, in Manica province.
The couple of founders left Mozambique in the ends of 2004, but the work goes on with the help of brazilin couple.
PORTUGAL
After a few years of return of the couple Rosária and Samuel Garcia to Portugal, still as heads of the association in Mozambique, together with other friendly people aware of the problem of the prisoner and his family, they addressed the legalization of this same association in Portugal.
This non-profit association, for the protection and promotion of human rights, was created on February 8, of 2010, under number 1063/10, with national headquarters in the municipality of Loures. The association's great objective is the personal, social, labor and cultural insertion of people who are in a situation of social exclusion, namely the resident or prison population and their families.
Genneral Projects
MOZAMBIQUE
CENTRO NOVA ESPERANÇA - Land with about 3 hectares, granted by the Municipal Council in 2002, with the help of a local partner. The main objective of this center is to enable vocational training for young people, as a way of providing professional qualifications and preventing crime.
PORTUGAL
This association intends to carry out the following activities: (1) Training for prisoners in prison establishments; (2) Promote the association's presentation with other institutions; (3) Support the association's projects in Mozambique; (4); Continued food support, etc., to needy socio-economic families.

Next Projects
Below are mentioned the projects that the Association's management wishes to carry out in the coming years, if there are human and financial resources for their development.
1 - SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL REINSERTION
The national unemployment rate, according to the INE website (consulted on November 13, 2020), is at 7.8%. It is estimated that it could reach 10.2% by the end of 2020. We wish to develop support for job search, support for the legalization of immigrants, social reintegration of homeless people, etc.)
The number of homeless people is increasing, and in the last months of 2020, there has been a "significant increase in foreigners". We have some projects to develop on the agenda to develop in relation to these people.
2 - COLLECTION AND DONATION OF FOOD PRODUCTS, CLOTHING, MEDICINES, PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS, MISCELLANEOUS GOODS, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
At the end of March 2020 the number of requests for food support soared. The pandemic crisis has thrown many families into a difficult situation and hunger is a harsh but increasingly present reality. In August 2020, 24,000 people were dependent on food aid.

Providing accommodation and furniture for the a family: thanks to the generosity of some people, we were able to place mattresses, double bed base, single bed frame, kitchen utensils, fridge (picture on the side), machine, in the house washing machine, support furniture, etc.
